YIELD: Youth Instructed in Evangelism, Leadership, and Development

Where: Mumba, Tanzania (near the city of Sumbawanga Southwest Tanzania)

When: I've live in Tanzania since 9/12/2001

What: Mshauri wa Idara ya Vijana (Advisor to the Youth Department). There are about 70 Grace churches in Tanzania. Most of the members of our churches are Youth. (That is partially because 'youth' means anyone from the age of 13 - 35.) I work with a team of Tanzanian pastors and elders to guide the Youth of these churches. Our Goal is to raise the Youth up to become godly leaders for the church.

How: We are helping the churches learn how to have healthy Youth programs. We are encouraging the Youth to Grow spiritually through Camps, Seminars, and Conferences. We are training Teachers for each church youth group. We are training camp counselors. We are encouraging abstinence programs. We are attending weddings to show how proud we are of the Youth that follow through with God's plan for marriage.

Why: Ephesians 4:12-16 "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love."
