Is the Bible Really Scientifically Accurate? Many believe that the Bible can’t be trusted in the areas of science. They believe that “the Big Bang theory” and the “theory of Evolution” are good explanations of the origins of the universe and of man. However these theories do not explain our origins since each starts with something that already existed. The word “science” means “to know” and since God is all knowing, He is “all science.” When God speaks, He is speaking knowledge or science. The universe and man are the result of the creative work of God and not the result of some cosmic calamity. Understanding the creative work of God is the only true and valid explanation of the origins of the universe and man. The Bible describes many of the ideas of science, and long before man “discovered” them. For instance science states the two laws of Thermodynamics. The first is that nothing new is being created in the known universe and the second is the law of increasing disorder or entropy. Science has no explanation as to why these laws of “nature” exist. Yet God’s Word, the Bible, clearly gives us the answer that it is because of Adam’s sin (Romans 5:12; 8:21) that we under this “bondage of corruption.” The Bible is just as scientific in talking about the importance of blood (Leviticus 17:11), the concept of gravity (Job 26:7), and the equivalence of mass and energy (Hebrews 11:3) to name a few. The Bible is absolutely accurate and scientific and can be trusted in all areas. Not one word of it is less inspired than the other. Comments please write to:
